Design
Fire Protection Design
We will use our NICET Level IV experience to design any type project, utilizing either HydraCAD or AutoSPRINK platforms. Also, we can utilize Navisworks for coordination and clash analysis where BIM / 3-D is required. Our design services include product data sheets, hydraulic calculations, seismic brace hangers and material stocklisting. Project location doesn’t matter – we are ready to travel as needed and can attend call-in and/or web-based meetings.
Consulting
Founder Rick Kossler has a diverse background in design, sales and operations / project management, which makes Kossfire the right / ideal choice for companies needing Fire Protection Consulting services. We can handle any project type, including: Commercial, Industrial, Manufacturing, Residential, Government, Healthcare and Education, etc.
Kossfire can review bid documents and develop cost estimates, perform International Building Code (IBC) / NFPA code reviews and provide scope of work letters. We will provide an itemized material cost breakdown, plus match installation labor hours to the scope of work. This will also include a detailed scope of work letter that compliments the Fire Protection scope and protects your project estimate.
We perform a complete system review to match the facility use group / occupancy with the Fire Protection design density requirements. This will include a code review, plus analysis of the water supply.
For existing facilities, our review will reveal any required density and piping upgrades, determine if a fire pump is required, plus provide a detailed scope of work letter and pricing estimate to show the value of the required work. We include travel to the project location as needed.
By performing a complete system review, we will provide a detailed report to highlight changes in either work scope or working conditions. This will include an itemized cost impact breakdown, plus a list of work scope changes for presentation. We are ready to assist with arbitration as needed to achieve cost reclamation.
Project Management
To compliment the Design and Consulting services, we can also use our experience to offer Project Management services. This can be in the form of needed support, or direct on-site field oversight interacting with field staff and developing a rapport with the project GC / Owner. We include project schedule review and loading, work-flow process implementation, safety review, and a written field observation report. Additionally, we can attend on-site or call-in project meetings, provide a Jobsite Safety Analysis (JSA) and perform as your Commissioning Agent.
Work with one of our project coordinators to ensure your project runs smoothly and within budget. We will document work flows, make suggestions to streamline the field process and sequencing, identify gaps in your scope and help optimize your installation productivity that is based against task durations and the project schedule. This involvement will identify changes in work scope / change order opportunities.
Our team is able to travel to your project site and work directly with your field staff. The focus will be to provide oversight of the field activity as follows: We will review their installation process, identify sequence slow-downs and obstructions, and work to improve their efficiency – the end result is achieving higher productivity.
Let us support your team by sending a Commissioning Agent to perform a project review, plus participate with system testing and equipment start-up. We will include the field observation report for your verification and records.
